For Clean Water:
When used to pump clean water, the operating temperature range of the CHI pumps is 0 degrees C to 90 degrees C with the standard silicon carbide seal and FKM (Viton) 'O' ring.
A high temperature silicon carbide seal with EPDM 'O' ring is available for clean water in the range of 90 degrees C to 120 degrees C.
Suitability:
- The CHI series is suitable for pumping thin, non-explosive liquids, not containing solid particles or fibres. The liquid must not chemically attack the pump materials.
- When pumpig liquids with a density and/or viscosity higher than those of water, oversized motors must be used, if required.
- Wether a pump is suitable for a particular liquid depends on a number of factors of which the most important are the chloride content, pH value, temperature and content of chemicals and oils.
- Please note that agressive liquids (for instance sea water and some acids) may attack or dissolve the protective oxide film of the stainless steel and thus cause corrosion.
